There is a huge choice of outdoor activities available locally including horse riding on the beach, fishing, golfing, water sports, walks such as the Kerry Way, and bicycle hire.

Castlecove Heights is just a 10 minute walk from the pretty little village of Castlecove - have a pint in both the Staigue Fort Hotel, and the Black Shop, where local musicians often have impromptu sessions. Five minutes drive away will find you at O'Carroll's Cove, proudly boasting being Ireland’s Only Beach Bar, and the Derrynane Hotel with its beautiful views and regular music evenings during the holiday season.
